Happy National Siblings Day! - April 10, 2021

National Siblings Day is on Saturday, April 10, 2021! National Siblings Day is a holiday held every year in the United States on April 10 to recognize and celebrate the special bond that exists between brothers and sisters.

In honor of National Siblings Day, Siblings with a Mission has partnered for a third year in a row with the wonderful organization, Don't Hide It, Flaunt It, to share stories and raise awareness of the special experiences that siblings share together. Please check out these incredible stories below and visit Don't Hide, Flaunt It's website to read more stories.

To read the stories that we shared in partnership previously, check out our National Siblings Day 2020 page here and our National Siblings Day 2019 page here.

If you would like to share a picture of you and your sibling or a story, please contact us here or email us at siblingswithamission@gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you! Happy National Siblings Day!

National Siblings Day 2021 Stories

"Brotherly Bond"
By William Herrera
Brothers make the simple things in life seem the most memorable. In his heartwarming short story, William recounts all the fun times he has with his older brother Matthew who is visually impaired. Even though Matthew faces obstacles in his daily living, William supports Matthew and together they create a lifelong brotherly bond. To read William's short story, click here.

"Endurance and Perseverance: The Story of Ava Garnett. A Brother's Perspective"
By John Garnett
In this beautiful story, John shares how he has been incredibly inspired by his sister, Ava. Ava has a rare condition called Nail Patella Syndrome (NPS). Although Ava often experiences pain, she stays positive and is very active in sports as well as in advocacy. As John explains, "I know that each day my sister has a choice to either sulk about challenges that she has, or to make a choice to try and always find something to be positive about…to look on the bright side. Thinking positively can change the whole trajectory of your life.  When there is a will, there is a way. I see that from the examples that my sister has shown me." Read John's moving and inspirational story here.
