"Story of the Food Snatcher,"
By Perri Bryan
This is one of the funniest stories I was ever told about my brother growing up. I don’t remember it myself because I was a baby at the time. We were living with my dad at the time and he was putting me down for a nap and in the middle of cooking dinner for us. So he was running around doing a lot of things at one time. My big brother, Ray, was supposed to be in the living room watching cartoons. Normally when my brother was watching cartoons he stood in front of the TV as close as he possibly could, jumping and laughing. Well, on this day my dad noticed that my brother was oddly quiet but he knew that my brother was probably worn out because he had been very active all day that day, so he thought nothing about it. Just as my dad was walking into the living room the doorbell rings. So he turns around and walks to the door and opens it. He can’t help but laugh a little because as he opens the door all he sees is his neighbors from the cul-de-sac holding my brother’s hand. Apparently Ray had escaped from the house and ran to their house and helped himself to their dinner. Yes, he had gone into their house, up to their dinner table and just started eating their dinner. I guess he really wanted Chinese food that night. This is one of my favorite stories of my brother simply because it shows how much personality my brother had. If he wanted something, he made sure he got it. It also shows how important food was to him. That boy LOVED food!
