"Siblings with a Mission Partners with Orange Socks to Increase Awareness and Support for Siblings"
By Manav Midha, Operations Executive
Siblings with a Mission has recently partnered with Orange Socks to increase awareness and support for siblings in the special needs community.
Orange Socks is an education and advocacy initiative of the nonprofit organization RISE, Inc. dedicated to serve and support families of children with special needs. Together, Siblings with a Mission and Orange Socks will share stories about the sibling experience (both written and audio versions) and will work to raise awareness and increase support for siblings and families in the special needs community.
Stories written by siblings can be found on Orange Sock's website at http://orangesocks.org/category/sibling-stories/. Stories can also be found on our story column here. We hope you find these stories helpful and resourceful.
We encourage you to write and share your story. Many siblings have found that writing their story can be a therapeutic process, and stories can provide support and help other siblings and families who have similar experiences. With more stories, we can provide more support and increase more awareness of the sibling experience. For suggestions about how to get started writing your story, please check out our article here. Please contact us to submit your story today.
We are excited about this partnership and look forward to discovering what our two organizations can accomplish in the future.
Siblings with a Mission is a non-profit, international organization established to serve and support siblings of individuals with special needs.
